The building of the former People’s Bank is an interesting building, which is situated at Mostová Street in the centre of the town.

The People’s Bank bought this building and re-built it based on their needs in 1914, later, the premises were occupied by a Slovak bank “Tatra Banka” or a department store.

What is interesting is the significant involvement of Andrej Hlinka in the establishment of the People’s Bank, he even held the office of the bank’s chairman of administration for a certain period of time.

In the upper part of the facade, one might notice the motive of a bee hive surrounded by linden branches and the initials ĽB, which give away the original purpose of the building.
