The Mother of the Partisans Memorial is situated in Ružomberok’s housing area Roveň, approximately 2 km away from the centre of the town.

A dominant element of the memorial is a large statue of a woman: Mother of the Partisans. The memorial reminds us of the importance of the Slovak National Uprising in our history.

The concrete part of the memorial, located behind the statue of the Mother of the Partisans, is inscribed: “Let the song of freedom echo forever, as from the pain of the mother over the deaths of the heroes rise the strength and the brotherhood of the nations!”

The author of the statue is academic sculptor Alfonz Groma.
