The military park is situated in the Ružomberok’s town district of Biely Potok, approximately 9 km away from the centre of Ružomberok.

It lies on the popular bike trail from Ružomberok to Korytnica, called “CykloKorytnička”.

It commemorates the battles which took place here during the Slovak National Uprising. Hill Ostrô, rising in the nearby area, was the location of the toughest battles of the wide surroundings. The reason is that this is where the strategic route to Banská Bystrica passes through. In this area, the insurgent troops were able to resist for six weeks when greatly outpowered by German troops and their military technology, which made the battles in the territory of Biely Potok and Ostrô Hill the symbol of the insurgents’ determination. The fans of military history can also study the combat situation of the time in the period military map.

There is also a replica of a mortar and models of soldiers of each troop.
