Chapel of Saint Ján Nepomucký in Ivachnová

The Roman-Catholic chapel of Saint Ján Nepomucký is situated in the town of Ivachnová, approximately 9 km away from the centre of Ružomberok.

The Classicistic chapel, which is situated in the northern part of the town, by the road running along the Váh River, was built in 1858.

Inside the chapel, there is an original altar of St. Ján Nepomucký.

An interesting fact is that during the Slovak National Uprising, the inhabitants of Ivachnová used this very chapel to hide the transported body of priest M. Martinka from Liptovský Michal, who had been shot to death.
