The drinking basin is situated in the wooded area at the premises of the Švošov menagerie above the town of Švošov. The drinking basin is not a spring, it only directs the water from the spring which surfaces approximately 50 metres farther uphill. You can get to the drinking basin along the blue-marked educational trail.

– The drinking basin consists of a wooden conduit for animals to drink from, which collects the water led from the spring situated farther uphill.
– Above the water inlet of the drinking basin, there is a wooden frog, which creates the impression of a frog sitting on a spring.
– The drinking basin is situated in an enclosed menagerie, but you can see it through the fence, at which it is located.
– Passing in the vicinity of the drinking basin is a blue-marked educational trail, the hiking – educational trail of Švošov.
– There is a sitting area in the vicinity of the drinking basin.
– The drinking basin is situated in Šípska Fatra, which is a sub-part of the Great Fatra.
